HIIT (high intensity interval training) is a training method combining short intervals of high intensity exercise with rest intervals. This method has been proven to burn fat very efficiently, increase strength and endurance and speed up metabolism for 24 hours after each workout. Combined with a healthy balanced diet, this is a great recipe for fat loss.
Who can do HIIT?
As with all exercises, if you are coming from a sedentary lifestyle, have not taken part in regular physical activities, suffer from chronic illness (any heart disease, diabetes, respiratory illness etc) or if you are worried about anything, it is always advisable to check with your doctor. This class is designed for all abilities with plenty of adaptations and alternatives offered.
Only 30 minutes – resulting in a short workout time so that nearly anyone can integrate it into their lifestyle
HIIT training can increase VO2 max. This is the max amount of oxygen a person can use and transport during exercise. You want this number to be high because it enables us to use more fat as fuel instead of glucose
HITT training increases EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) resulting in an elevated fat loss state for up to 24 hours after you finish your workout (burning calories whilst you’re asleep) – something you won’t get from lower intensity exercise.
